If you’d like to learn more about the ways we can help fight climate change by enhancing biodiversity, pop along to hear Terry Smithson, Head of Nature Based Solutions at BioScapes, lead a panel discussion at this year’s Water Resource Management Expo, part of the Environmental Services & Solutions Expo.
During the discussion, entitled ‘Looking beyond carbon myopia: Why a focus on Biodiversity can deliver so much more’, the panel will explain how biodiversity is the stuff of life and the glue which holds systems together.
From healthy soils, and water management, to creating vibrant places where we can thrive, the presentation and discussion will highlight why a richness in biodiversity is essential for maintaining our environment and natural resources.
A bit about Terry
Terry Smithson is the Head of Nature Based Solutions at BioScapes. He has a passion for protecting the planet’s natural habitat, with a deep understanding of species and ecosystems and how this benefits humankind.
Over three decades in the Nature Conservation sector, Terry has brought about biodiversity restoration through species recovery, land management and policy development, and through landscape scale habitat restoration. Terry aims to maximise the benefits to people from the natural world and has delivered this through community programmes, placed-based interventions and the development of Nature-based tourism programmes.
More recently, with BioScapes he has developed a suite of compact habitat units designed to simplify water management and biodiversity provision within our built environment.
